Arden, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Diabetic Eye Screening Programme
Diabetes can damage your vision or lead to blindness. Diabetic eye disease often has no symptoms until it’s advanced. With early detection and treatment this can be prevented.
Diabetes is the leading cause of preventable sight loss in adults, so don’t lose sight of your screening appointment.
Free diabetic eye screening for people with diabetes aged 12 years and older.
Diabetic eye screening is not the same as your regular sight test at your Opticians which you should still attend. The examination includes eye drops to dilate your pupils and digital photographs will be taken of the back of your eyes (the retina). These photographs are reviewed by accredited specialists.
If you have NOT received an appointment letter, please contact the Booking Office (Monday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 12pm) on 01905 896333 or enquiries.ahwdesp@nhs.net
